About Dr. Amala Jayasuriya
Dr Amala has over 25 years of experience in general practice. She feels great pride in having formed long-term relationships with her patients over the years. She is a Fellow of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine. Her interests include preventing chronic disease by modifying risk factors, PCOS, pregnancy planning, women’s health, child health eczema and skin rashes.
Dr Amala has a special interest and training in lifestyle modification to lose weight and prevent progression of chronic disease including Type 2 Diabetes. After losing weight with lifestyle changes herself, she is passionate to help others lose weight, improve fatty liver, PCOS, pre-diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes and peri-menopausal weight gain.
Outside of medicine, Dr Amala loves spending time with her family. She is particularly fond of her dog and spends most of her free time in the garden.
Consulting Schedule
Monday & Thursday 9 AM to 5 PM
Tuesday 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM – Telehealth only
Wednesday & Friday 9 AM to 6 PM

She enjoys all aspects of Family Medicine especially Children’s Health, Women’s Health, Skin rashes and Chronic Diseases management, weight loss, lifestyle modification to prevent progression of chronic disease.
